The PolyWorks/Inspector module is a fully equipped3D software for inspections of all kinds. It offers to user a possibility of direct communication with measuring systems of different producers and thus allows direct loading of data intended for further processing. Measurements can be used to generate a CAD model or drawing, or can be compared to any other measurement. The evaluation options are almost unlimited: distance and angle measurements, evaluation of radii, diameters, positions, GD&T analysis (flatness, alignment, perpendicularity, and so on) or evaluation of a complete fully graphically configurable measurement report. For evaluation of 3D scanned data the software offers comparison of deviations from reference parts in the form of coloured maps, sections and profiles. - Statistical process control integrated directly in the basic software package - finds its application in the evaluation of serial batch and various other analysis measurements. - The software is also supplemented with various industries specific features such as the measurement of joints and continuity (automotive, aerospace industry) and the measurement of blade profiles or wings (power industry, aerospace, and so on). Due to its architecture which contains so-called updatable projects, operator will never have to evaluate a similar measuring task twice. At the first measurement the software saves the entire procedure of measurement, evaluation, report form and layout, and at the repeated mesurement the software will perform the whole process fully automatically, including measuring report generation. Due to this complete, powerful system with added macro script language, the software can handle any metrological task from simple manual inspection to fully automated in-line measurement.
The PolyWorks/Modeler module is a fully-equipped 3D software for complete solutions for reverse engineering. It offers to user a possibility of direct communication with measuring systems of different producers and thus allows direct loading of data intended for further processing. Using a full range of powerful features, scanned data can be adjusted, filtered, reduced and so on, in order to achieve optimal results. With the automatic process of triangulation, which is fully parametrically controlled by operator, PolyWorks software offers creation of precise and detailed polygonal models of high quality. These models can be further processed via various modifications and improvements (filling holes in data, smoothing, reconstruction of edges and radii), and in standard formats (e.g. STL) they can be used as reference for programming various CNC milling machines or as models for inspection comparison. If necessary, it is possible to create so-called NURBS surfaces from polygonal models and thus to create real or idealized CAD models exportable in IGES or STEP format.
